8. Positive A(u)ction

The climax of THIRTY-ONE was the Positive A(u)ction. It was a mix of excitement and purpose, drawing inspiration from traditional auctions but with a contemporary twist aimed at engaging us all.

In a room filled with anticipation, we gathered around oversized tickets representing crucial actions for the Article 31 campaign. Michael Archibald, one of Articulate’s Creative Changemakers, took the stage as auctioneer, injecting the event with his dynamic presence.

Instead of bidding with cash, we bid with our passion and expertise. Each bid symbolised a commitment to driving tangible change for young people. From engaging with politicians to strategising campaigns and amplifying youth voices, every bid counted.

Now, here's where you come in. We need your voice and creativity to demonstrate why the arts are essential for children and young people. Whether it's through art, music, writing, or any other form of expression, you can contribute to the Article 31 campaign.

So, are you ready to make your mark and show the world the importance of the arts?

Our Call For Change:

Policy change: The arts, creativity and culture embedded in every Scottish Child’s Plan in line with UNCRC Article 31 legislation.

How will we get there? Centrally, the Creative Changemakers will be supported as required to realise their goal, and then our collective focus will be to:

Connect - with politicians and decision-makers to pave the way for the change we want to see

Collaborate - gather a network of allies to help us get where we want to go

Converse - carry out peaceful protests using our artistry to start and maintain the discussion about creativity, culture and care experience

Campaign - plan and deliver more Artivism work by articulating a clear manifesto for change supported by a well-researched and -resourced advocacy plan

Create - events, exhibitions, projects and publications that are co-designed and hosted by those who feel as we do.
