Through the Lens

This special issue of Culture 360 presents Through the Lens: A Young Person’s Perspective. This was a collection of photographs taken by five young photographers, and a subsequent exhibition. The images illustrate a young person’s perspective on their place in East Renfrewshire today.

With the support of professional photographer Margaret Mitchell, the young people explored inspiration and imagery from the natural world, urban landscapes, and personal perspectives. They took a much wider selection of technical and aesthetic shots than are displayed here.

The process of curating and interpreting the final selection was an intrinsic part of the creative process and authentically reflects the life and work of professional practitioners.

The work went on show at Eastwood Park Theatre Gallery.

Through the Lens was created in partnership with East Renfrewshire Champions Board. The project was supported by East Renfrewshire Council and East Renfrewshire Small Grants Trust, with in-kind sponsorship  provided by The Articulate Gallery.
