6. The Vault

The Vault landing page prototype.

During the workshop, we introduced The Vault and trove their ability to document positive life stories. We also mentioned the connection between them. Envisioning the provision of a ‘trove’ to children for preserving memories, which smoothly transitions to The Vault as they grow, resonated well with participants. trove’s design and tactile appeal were widely appreciated, underscoring its unique and delightful interaction.

People thought these two tools can serve as a valuable space for young minds, allowing them to safeguard and cherish their treasures. This nurturing environment goes beyond the surface, fostering well being on a deeper level. People think they are exciting tools for fostering meaningful connections with their past and present.

Next up Articulate's digital team, Vera Tingwen and Jason Gillan, hosted an awesome presentation to introduce two amazing projects: The Vault and trove.

So, what's The Vault? It's part of this big project called 'The Articulate Hub', and it's special app designed with care experienced young people in mind. It's all about helping you keep your memories safe – from precious moments to important documents. It's almost ready to launch! They're just doing some final tests and taking feedback to make it even better.

We also learned about trove. This idea comes from Professor Debbie Watson and Chloe Meineck from Studio Meineck. It's a digital and physical memory box for kids who've been in care. You can tag your stuff with special codes and record a voicenotes to explain what it means to you. Everything is stored on the cloud so you can always access your most treasured memories.

During the presentation, Jason had his daughter with him, and seeing her interact with the technology was really special. It showed just how important and impactful these projects are for care experienced individuals. They're not just gadgets – they're tools to help you connect with your past and feel supported along the way.

So, if you're excited to learn more about The Vault and trove, keep an eye out for updates.
