4. The Art of Lived Experience

Ever wondered how some of your favourite celebrities made it big despite facing tough times? Well, Saffron Hill and Eve Biggs from Children of Revolution showed us how during their workshop.

Children of Revolution believe that tough times can actually spark some serious creativity. And guess what? They're right.

Saffron and Eve kicked off the workshop by sharing their own stories of growing up in care. Then they showed us pictures of famous celebs like Malcolm X, Marilyn Monroe, and Steve Jobs – and get this, they all grew up in care too! It was inspiring to see how these people overcame their struggles.

Hands from the workshop.

After that, we got to come up with quotes inspired by these celebs and shared them with each other. It was great to see how much we could relate to their stories and come up with our own words of wisdom.

To wrap things up, we traced our hands on a wall. With one hand, we wrote down all the stuff we wanted to let go of – the negative stuff. Then, with the other hand, we filled the space with all the awesome qualities we have and want to grow.

This workshop was a total celebration of how we can turn tough times into something positive. It reminded us that we're all super resilient and creative, no matter what life throws at us.

So, what do you think? Take a moment to reflect – we'd love to hear your thoughts.
